Make it stick

Add us to Contacts

  1. Open our email.
  2. Hover over the From address and click Add to contacts.
This signals Gmail that we are "people you know," which can help Primary placement. (Google Help)

Create a simple keep-in-Primary filter

  1. In Gmail on desktop, click Settings → See all settings → Filters and blocked addresses → Create a new filter.
  2. In From, enter our sending address (for example, hello@yourdomain.com). Click Create filter.
  3. Check options such as Categorize as → PrimaryNever send it to Spam, and Always mark as important. Click Create filter. (Google Help)

Note: Gmail's categorization is algorithmic. Dragging to Primary and using Move to → Primary are the most reliable user actions. The "Do this for future messages" prompt appears on desktop when you drag between tabs. (Google Help)

Fix common issues

  • Don't see tabs like Primary/Promotions
Switch your inbox type to Default in Settings, or enable category tabs. (Google Help)
  • No "Move to" on phone
Update the Gmail app. Then open the message, tap ⋮ More, choose Move to, and select Primary. (Google Help)
  • Still landing in Promotions
Do all three: drag to Primary on desktop and accept the future-messages prompt, Move to → Primary on mobile, and create the filter above. (Google Help)
  • Went to Spam
Open the email in Spam and click Not spam, then create the filter with Never send it to Spam. (Google Help)

Suggested blurb you can drop into emails

Using Gmail on your phone
