Why You’re Missing Opportunities Because You’re Not Calling Them Events

Many business owners fall into the trap of thinking, “We’re not an event-based business,” so they skip opportunities to promote their brand through local event listings. But here’s the truth: you probably have more “events” than you realize, and they’re worth sharing.

What Counts as an Event?

An “event” doesn’t have to be a big ticketed gathering or a live concert. In fact, it can be:

  • A new menu launch at your restaurant
  • An art or product showcase in your shop
  • A seasonal sale or flash promotion
  • A back-to-school special or holiday preview
  • A customer appreciation day, grand opening, or anniversary
  • A free tasting, pop-up, or demo
  • A fall-themed decor unveiling or photo op setup

If it’s happening on a certain date (or over a short period of time), and you want people to show up, check it out, or engage, it’s an event!

Why You Should Care

Events, no matter how small, create moments of buzz. They give you a reason to post on social media, to show up in newsletters like this one, and to appear in local event calendars like Vero Vine’s.

Best of all? Events give your audience something to look forward to. And with fall right around the corner, Halloween, pumpkin-themed everything, back-to-school promotions, now is the perfect time to lean in!

Get Listed. Get Seen.

So before you say, “We don’t have anything coming up,” take a second look at your calendar. Chances are, you do. And once you list it, you’re tapping into a growing audience that’s actively looking for things to do in Indian River County.

Have an upcoming offer, class, or seasonal promotion?
Submit it to the Vero Vine calendar today, and let the community know what’s happening with you.
